Mainpuri (UP), Jun 23 (PTI) A prisoner allegedly tried to commit suicide by cutting off his testicles with a blade in district jail here, police said today. Rajiv Kumar of Bharthana (Etawah) went into the jail's toilet and cut off his testicles with a blade yesterday, Jailor R K Singh said. Ascertaining the cause of suicide attempt, he said, Rajiv had qualified a written exam for Army and was expecting an interview call but was disappointed with his career as he was jailed. The victim was rushed to the hospital in Agra, where his condition was stated to be out of danger, Singh said. The prisoner was lodged in the district jail here for abducting a girl, he added.
