Is EA (or Wyrm Wyvern LLC) an IRS-qualified charity? If not, is there some unsurmountable obstacle to becoming one? The Nifty Archive, for example, has 501(c)3 status, and Nifty's purpose is to make a mixture of very good and rather abysmal stories available to the world. EA does that, too, but is also a serious, unique, and much-needed educational resource, as well as a means for a somewhat isolated community to find mutual support.

No, neither eunuch.org nor Wyrm Wyvern, LLC are 501(c)3. We haven't really thought it necessary before.

Nor can I hazard a guess as to whether it would be worthwhile, not knowing much about how much it costs to run EA, how well the current funding mechanisms are working, or how much work is required to become 501(c)3. Speaking only for myself as a very small contributor, I can say that it is psychologically easier for me to make tax-deductible contributions.
