Yep. There are many threads tying individuals to the crime which the WC ignored. The decision to tag Oswald with a murder he didn't commit was made before the first WC meeting. After all Ruby made sure Oswald was in no position to deny any involvement (which he did loudly when in custody) and that is a government's dream come true.

Maybe because I wasn't born until 1969, but I just don't even find the JFK assasination conspiracies interesting. Maybe Vietnam would have turned out differently but to me it seems that Kennedy was just a bunch of "Hope & Change" and his assasination galvanized his place in history more so than if he had served his term.

I remember sitting in music harmony class in my Jr year of high school, the first message we got was that Kennedy had been shot. We all sat there in shock, then about 20 minutes later we were told he was dead, and people just went home. For the next 4 days thats all we watched on TV. I don't think I can describe the feeling that this country had that week, even my parents who were republicans were in shock. I guess if you take 9/11 and magnify is several dozen times you might be there.

I guess its a generational thing, I remember reading and seeing the FDR stuff on film I am sure you have too, but it doesn't mean anything to me, I was not there.

Yes River your right you had to be there. I was in the navy and station in Iceland at the time. We had just goten back to the bearacks and were watching the news that day. We saw it happen live on TV and what I watched didn't look like what the WC sed. By the way ofer that things chaned in the goverment fast and not the way J.F.K. did it. Ernie of Maine:-\

I to remember being in school when all of a sudden the nuns were appearing at each others doors and whispering. Then I noticed tears. They finally shared what had happened and then we went home. This seemed to be a loss of innocence for the country.

I was at Hollywood High School in 10th grade. Rumors spread, were confirmed, school would not be let out over it. I rode the bus to a oral surgery follow-up - wisdom teeth, and say papers with the word, martyred. I read it as Marty Red and had not idea of the word although I knew the happening.

For me, America was never America again.

Viet Nam, riots, limits, economic losses, dishonesty the norm.

The music of America died that day. Just because it happened then and what happened after. The innocence of the '50's lost.
