Where can one travel to in November and December, and still remain within a civilization and society, to avoid all the Western traditions of Thanksgiving and Christmas like trees, lights, songs, gifts, etc.. ?

Thanksgiving would be easy to avoid in other English speaking nations such as Aussieland and Kiwiland. England, Canada, South Africa, etc.

Christmas avoidance?

How about Israel? Outside Christian 'hoods, of course.

Morocco or Istanbul?

Selected parts of Asia?

I'd rather stay home and send Christmas on a vacation.

As a retired friend who owned a gift shop in Clayton Mo, which is the high end area in St Louis.

He was Jewish and said, "I love Christmas, good Jewish boy does good."

I miss Herb,

Just celebrate nature. Celebrate the Winter Solstice, then celebrate the arrival of Spring, Summer, and Autumn. Celebrate every day as for each of us there may not be a personal tomorrow.

Re-decorate your environment with items of the season. Enjoy that which nature has provided us with as it is far and above anything that man has thought of or created. There is much to enjoy and celebrate once you break free of man made events.

Life is good.

For just a second I thought you said, "I do smoke the yule!" :D

Is it possible to castrate Christmas out of a person?
