chat room disconections

The chat room is getting very frustrating. I know that the alternate is SUPPOSED to be up. It ISN'T. I have been disconected on a regular basis from the chat. I REALLY REALLY hope that the problem will be resolved. I do realize that the chat is NOT a priority for some... but many have made connections through it. The chat IS NOT a MINOR part of the room. Sorry for your disconnects. The back up server has been up a few days now. Think around 75% of the people are now on the backup server. This is a different server. 2000 miles apart and a different IP provider. The disconnects are still happening on a regular basses. So every thing has been changed with no major difference. Think all that could be tried has been. Sorry

This just the joys of the IRC word.

The backup server IS running and IS working. You are dealing with residential ISP servers.... when one residential server cant accomodate, the other tries... Have to deal with what we have... It is not commericial... sorry...

An additional (and current -best- choice) IRC server has been added to access the ea chat room. It can found using this info:

server: otherbackup.hopto.org

port: 6667

The chat is still accessible on an older server as well using:

server: darkstar1.tzo.com

port: 6667

For those not using IRC, the Java interface is onsite as usual.

The backup was getting clogged up but we found the problem: the damned thing was full of FLEECE.
