While I do agree with what chilli has said, I would like to suggest that this is also a community of men who are mainly interested in reducing or eliminating testosterone, be it by physical castration or some other method. It is testosterone, not testicles, that are the nemisis. Since physical castration is so problematic, risky, and costly the trend to chemical reduction/elimination of testosterone is the most probable course of action at this time. I personally don't think of chemical reduction/elimination of testosterone as "castration", but by some internet definitions, it is castration; which is why I find it at least informative to know if someone is a chemical or physical castrate - not that it makes any difference or that one is better or worse than the other - it is just a point of information. Although for some the thought of having no testicles, or actually having no testicles, has a certain sense of absoluteness and intrigue, and is the ultimate fantasy and goal. The burdizzo however is just not a safe and sane method by which to achieve anti-testosterone nirvana; do avoid doing that.

On the contrary, there are a significant number of members for whom testosterone is NOT the nemesis. Myself for one. There are many folks here who experience some degree of BIID (Body Integrity Identity Disorder)(about 1/3 of regular members). For them, it is removal of the bits that is important, not the T levels. A significant number of folks DO have issues with T (i.e., those with libido issues, trans-folk, and so on), but low T isn't the only objective here. Even for those who want the bits gone and maintain the T-related characteristics, a trial of chemical castration can also be telling - even if only an abbreviated trial - it clarifies experience and needs. I've gone without for periods (experimenting in some cases, lack of insurance in others), but overall I DO want testosterone. I just wanted the bits gone!

Well.......there you go......learn something every day.

I stand not only corrected, but I am so glad that you added this information for the illumination of myself and others. I spoke only from personal knowledge.

Most certainly I could understand anyone wanting/needing testes removed due to disease or pain and of course in trans-gender situations. And while I don't quite comprehend anyone wanting them gone just to have them gone, I respect that everyone has the right to personal body modification.

My desire for having them removed was extreme prior to chemical reduction of testosterone (CRT). After CRT I had little desire to have them removed. Variety, the spice of life.
