Started Androcur Today (4/30)

Post by chris_M (imported) »

Hello everyone. I just wanted to let anyone who might be interested that I took my first Androcur today. I ordered it from 'inhousepharmacy.com' last Wed. and it arrived in 6 days. I'm going to start out slow and NOT take more than 50mg twice per day total and see what kind of results I achieve. My wife and I don't want to totally remove my sex drive at this time but reduce it considerably. Also, we are planning on having me surgically castrated, most likely later this year. We're hoping that by using Androcur first, we can see if we get the desired results before surgery and then it won't be such a huge shock to my body when the surgery is performed. i/e- Going from a huge amount of testosterone down to virtually zero in a couple of days. We'll keep everyone posted about the results of the Androcur.

Anyone who is interested, feel free to respond either via this website or direct to our e-mail address. We would REALLY like to correspond with other m/f couples who are interested in or have had the male castrated. This is something that IS going to take place. We've been in contact with someone who can perform the procedure and are just waiting for the right time which will most likely be later this year due to a heavy workload during the summer.

Take care,

Chris

Um, confirmed bachelor here. But just wanted to remind you to make sure you see your physician and inform him of what is going on. Note that he CANNOT stop you, and if he is a real physician he will help you with the tests needed to make sure you do not have unwanted side effects.

Good luck, hope its everything you want, I know it is for me. Like Andrew said, See your doctor and tell him everything and make sure he tests you regular basis.

Hi Chris

I ordered my Androcur a few days ago and was interested in the effects it has had on you. I read your other post and it was very informative. thanks for the info. teak

Good luck Teak, and please, keep your doc informed of any suspicious changes. Androcur is powerful stuff; I had some minor problems with it during the July when I was taking it, and won't be back on it for a little while.

That said, the weeks when it was doing its work were just wonderful.

Teak,

I'm glad you found my previous post informative. FYI, I was listed as chris_M. That was assigned to me by someone on the board here after some minor confusion. I'm now listed as 'cpecke' which is the initials of my wife and I.

I'm going to write a longer post shortly about my expereince with Androcur, perhaps this weekend. I have stopped taking Androcur within the last two weeks. I will say that is is a very good medication to reduce or even eliminate testosterone. I was on it for a year and a half. However, I did not take high doses. The most I usually took was 100mg total per day, then I reduced it to 50mg per day. I'm sure I was not down to eunuch levels of testosterone but they were reduced significantly. The only reason I stopped was due to my weight gain the past 9 months or so. Other than that, the effects of lowered testosterone were wonderful. I do intend to start again sometime in the future and my wife and I do intend to have me surgically castrated sometime in the future also. I LOVED the effects of reduced testosterone witht he only exception being my weight. As many people have stated, it's easy to gain weight with low T levels and I have found that it's HARD AS HECK to lose any weight. I'll be posting more information about my experience shortly probably on the 'Chemical Castration' page. Gotta fly outta here right now though so look for a post perhaps this weekend.

Take care,

Chris

Take care,

Chris

I have been happily married for 42 years with three grown-up children and four grandchildren.

In January of last year I started on a three week course of Androcur and then switched to "Zoladex LA" given as an implant at 3-monthly intervals for a year. All this was prescribed by a hospital physician as part of my treatment, together with radiotherapy, for prostate cancer. Happily the cancer appears to be under control.

I felt very content with the way I felt while I was chemically castrated. I am to be surgically castrated on September 22. My wife was involved and supported the decision that I should be surgically castrated. The surgery will be performed by a urologist in a hospital in southern England where I live.

Please feel free to contact me by email.

Terry
