To Quote:

"Some skygazers were treated to the unexpected view of a bright sparkling glow Wednesday night, created when astronauts aboard the space shuttle Discovery dumped the waste out into space."

One of them, Abe Megahed, photographed the tail at 9:40 p.m. EDT (0140 GMT) Wednesday from Madison, Wisconsin.

"I just watched the shuttle and station flyover (8:40 PM CST 9/9/09) and was surprised to see that the shuttle was sporting a massive curved plume," he wrote. "What could it be? Something venting? An OMS burn? RCS thrusters? A massive, record breaking urine dump?"

Hmmm if the sky and space are heaven then an appropriate response to that event might be, "Holy Shit."

Best response to a post I have seen in a long time.

Now THAT was a good comeback.

I saw that sucker go over the other night, had NO clue what it was, and thought ET had finally come for me, or that Scotty was going to beam me up!

Then I got to thinking, hmmmm, "Alien abduction...anal probe? Hell, let's GO!"

, "Holy Shit."

Kibo [/B]module is a new Japanese-built research lab on the space station that includes an external platform to expose science experiments to the space environment. Water dumps from a docked shuttle could potentially pollute the experiments.

When I was a kid and went on my first Wolf Cub camp, the lady in charge of the cubs, a spinster of a certain age, was extremely concerned that none of her charges should suffer from constipation.

Every day at kit inspection she would ask each cub in turn "Kybo?" which was an acronym for "(have you) kept you bowels open?" Or in plain English "Have you had a shit in the last 24 hours?"

Any cub who said no got a tiny white pill which was absolutely guaranteed to remedy the situation. You shat your guts out in a stream of diarrhea for the next 48 hours. But there was nothing the least bit holy about it.

The outcome of that was that we all learnt to say yes when asked "Kybo?", to our leader's considerable satisfaction.

Subsequently I had a dog called Kybo and boy! Was that a good name for him.

I'm just glad that elephants can't fly.

Oh, but elephants can fly. They are seen nightly over that house on Pennsylvania Avenue. They carry that banner, G.O.P. Great Old Pachyaderm (sp)
