Eunuch Archive - The Next Generation

Post by kristoff »

The history of the Eunuch Archive – its small beginnings and evolution over more than 13 years – has been laid out in several posts over the years, and is also available in one of Talula’s podcasts (see the Archive’s front page for links). From its inception, people have slowly been drawn into it – to patronize it, support it, and maintain it. Over the years, a number of folks have supported and maintained the Archive, recognizing the value inherent in the information and support system we provide for those in need.

Bboy, the founder of the Eunuch Archive, has been gone for some time now. Those that remain and who maintain the site have all been around for at least 10 years or more. We (Paolo, Talula, IEunuch, Uncle Flo, Riverwind, Jesus, Bobbie, and Kristoff) are all old timers here. It is always important that the “older” generation bring along the “newer” one, especially if the Archive is to continue to exist and serve a function that some of us consider important.

Eventually, we will need others to step up and get into position to carry our mission forward. Is this site of value to you? Do you want to see this place continued? Do you have or are you willing to acquire the skills needed to help here? Do you have the time, and most of all the willingness, to stick out the long run? Do you have the ability to maintain an even keel even when some asshole is rocking the boat hard? If so, we need you.

We’re not going to hand the keys over to anyone immediately. We’ll need to get to know you, what you can do, and see how you can best help. You might even get to meet a red nun or a dark altar boy of the sith, or who knows who else. Waiting to hear from you – send me a PM.

Perhaps in the future if the EA were divided into 2 separate groups for

Category A: wanted them gone

1. M2F

2. M2U (wannabes and voluntary actuals)

Category B; never wanted them gone and can't comprehend why anyone would want them gone

3. M2U (due to an accident)

4. M2U (due to medical reasons)

Category B folks might find it awkward and uncomfortable to see and read through the messages from category A.

But anyone could visit and/or participate in either category. Anyone who looses them, regardless of what the desire, or cause, is going to have to deal with the hormonal consequences.

And if anyone enters testosterone replacement therapy, they are going to have to deal with similar issues also.

Being able to be open and frank in an anonymous environment of your peers fulfills a common need to talk, share, and listen and learn.

This site is an invaluable resource for anyone who has any interest from whatever direction to understand the desire for , results of , and ramifications of castration.

There is good historical information, frank discussion of HRT, and strong support from relatively anoymous members , to guide anyone thru the journey they are taking.

While some of the ideas and thoughts expressed make even this very open minded guy cringe, there needs to be such a place.

To that end , all of us need to be responsible for assisting in the continuation of the Archive.

I for one would do whatever I am capable of to assist.

To those who work so tirelessly to keep things going, thanks so much !!!

what exactly do moderators do? I know you guys delete spam and I don't know how the story moderator has time for anything else. What else is in the job description?

I think new moderators should have full repution points.

Please tell us exactly what computer skills or other skills are needed by the EA. What qualifications must one have to be an EA administrator? Do you need any equipment besides a good computer and high speed connection?
