Reaction from 'queer' community?

Post by Fen (imported) »

Well it started with gays. Then went to gays/lesbians/bisexual/transexual (somewhat in that order I think). So what about those who just want to get away from the whole thing? Anybody have experience with the queer community and how they react?

Just uh, WHAT is the "it" that you're on about?

Thanks Paulo and I'd like to know what the use of the word "they" means. Strange as it may seem, every single person of whatever sexuality is a "person" - an individual.

Some are young and handsome/pretty, others are in between, some

(gosh) are old. Sadly as with str8 people some are happy, others less so.

Some are sexual, some choose not to be but still admire male beauty the most. We are all different but linked by an invisible bond of

community, just like here. So that makes it a double bond of

affirmed community to me....I have no idea who "they" are??!!

Sac, "they" is, in this context, an amorphous stereotype in someone's mind, a stereotype in which he ascribes a collective personality to those he considers members of a group to which he doesn't belong. Often, the stereotype is oversimplified, grossly distorted, and, of course, unfair. But the fact that we think that way, is, unfortunately, part of the human condition. People seem unable to accept as individuals, those whom they perceive to belong to a group other than their own

It's not just a corny rock lyric, I think it's true! I'm just as idealistic if not more so than anyone else, but I'm talking practicalities here. Will the queer community help us get coverage for androcur and hormone replacement? Sodomy may not affect us, but gay marriage might. What about the neuter man looking to please gay men?
