Does sperm can castrate?

Post by Macumbakaloo (imported) »

Long time ago i've read an article about the sperm immunization, as a anticonceptive mean, and auto-immunization as a cause for infertility.

The sperm is bio-active and presence of the sperm out-of-genitary tract can cause immuno-reaction of the body.

My question is: does sperm can castrate? Does the subdermal injection of 1cc of the own sperm can trigger an auto-immuno-reaction, giving "suppresion" or "rejection" of testicles?

Are here any persons "on the way to full castration" but yet ejaculating, who are ready to make an experiment with injection of own sperm?

Comments and sugestions are expected ...

Provide reliable reference material on this and perhaps it can be considered further.

Otherwise, No.

I did not read much of the link. There is a big difference of sperm production and production of Testosterone. There are two different functions of the testicles. Sperm production and testosterone. The testosterone has a major effect on the production of sperm. The reverse is not true. The testicles can make defective sperm or low production. Reducing the testosterone will reduce the amount of sperm produced.

The article is talking about factors of poor quality, quantity and fertilization ability. Also tells of possible sperm issues and the reasons for the problem.

I am not a doctor or plan on being one any time soon. I could be way off on this.

This article seems to deal with infertility, not castration. There are millions of men who are infertile due to vasectomy. However, this in no way stops the testes from producing testosterone. This study that you sited seems to be research looking for the causes of infertility, not to cause infertility. Again, if you are just looking to be infertile, get a vasectomy.

Sometimes I think nature is somewhat out of kilter. What we need is a world that has less testosterone in it. Sperm can be extracted from the testes and used for reproduction of the species. Sure, not as easy as the natural method, but now medically feasible.

Imagine a world where testosterone was no longer produced during or after puberty. Males would still be as fertile or infertile as now but if a couple wanted to reproduce they would just go to the reproduction center and have sperm removed from the male and inserted into the woman. Could this put an end to rape, aggression, Type A personalities, even war? Men would not look masculine, have muscles, or grow beards or have deeper voices. It is quite something to let the mind play with.

I guess you are also wanting every male to get osteoporosis. Increased health risks. Reduce love in the world. Male could no longer have a need to have a partner or help raise the children. Why not also have a female not have their hormones. Just harvest their eggs. In some lab the egg will meet a sperm and pooooffff. We have a baby that has no father or mother. Will be a test tube world. Guess you want to undo what nature has been doing for ever. What kind of world do you want? Animals have fun but humans have no sexual drives. I think that sexual desires is what drives most of the world. Agree some of us are better off with out sex hormones. But why have the world live like us. Sound very unfair and just right out wrong. It is fine for you to do as you like but do not tell me what is right for me and the world.

NO! What it does is makes you infertile. And as it's your auto-immunization system, its permanent. But you still make all the testosterone that you need.

Macumbakaloo,

Like Bobbie and _g already said, there is a huge difference betweed testosterone production and production of gametes or sperm cells.

Both functions have different cells providing each function. Both sorts of cells are in the testicle. So, in fact, testicles are doing two things: making testosteron and making sperm cells. Leydig cells make the testosterone, Sertoli cells the gametes.

Concerning your question: This has only to do with the Sertoli cells: These cells make the sperm cells. Sperm cells are made to gather together with an egg cell in the woman. Sperm cells and egg cells only contain the half of the chromosomes of the individual they come from. Together they form a new individual, the comming child. Ok so far ?

Sperm cells, having only half of the chromosomes of the father, are thus not like the other cells of that man. The immune system could see these cells like intruders. But the Sertoli cells make a barrier to that immune system. In that way they are protected from that immune system. No antibodies against sperm cells are made.

Vasectomy can make the sperm cells run freely in the scrotum. In a reaction the body make antibodies and attacks own sperm cells.

This may be a reason revearsal of vasectomy not always is succesful. These men cannot allways regain there fertility.

Like you see, the leydig cells are not involved. So testosterone production still continues. There is no castration.

Rupture of the 'seal' towards the immune system also be seen after testicular trauma. Piercing of the testicle is an example of this. Fertility can diminish. A testicle has to be abused far more to stop producing testosterone.

In addition: testosterone production is regulated meticulously by the hypophysis by negative feedback. That organ produces stimulating hormones (LH&FSH), making the testicles produce testosterone and sperm cells. Production of testosterone stops the production of these stimulating hormones. A dip of testosterone concentration is followed immediately by an increase of stimulating hormones. That's the reason testosterone levels are almost not affected after unilateral castration. The other testicle will just produce more testosterone. But it can't produce more sperm cells.

Answer to you question ?

Never stop questioning ...

and

Take Care !

Vesal.

RE: Bobbie's reply.

I just said "Imagine". I didn't ask the Genie to make it so.

And you did just that - you imagined, different things than I imagined. And that's great, finally some feedback from somebody. .

Even though I am a male I get so fed up with male dominance, aggression and machismo.

Other than elimination of testosterone what else can be done to make men (in general, and some in particular) kinder beings? Just less testosterone? Or maybe testosterone by prescription only, as needed, like Viagra, or maybe a testosterone viagra mixture for sex play and reproduction. The osteporosis health item is an issue that would need to be resolved. This whole thread started out with the concept of using one's own sperm to reduce one's own testosterone. Just doing a little thinking out of the box.
