One should always remember that Dave comes from the land of Night of the Living Dead and the Deerhunter, not good movie material.

They also made BOB ROBERTS in Pgh
and SUDDEN DEATH (Jean Claude Van Damme),
ROCK STAR (Mark Wahlberg),
recently, SHE'S OUT OF MY LEAGUE (kids, whatsamatter with kids today?)
and FLASHDANCE (the outdoor scenes get giggles in Pittsburgh because they are going the wrong direction to get to where they want to go.)
STRIKING DISTANCE (no one is safe from Bruce Willis)
And in 1977 - BLACK SUNDAY (A film the Pittsburgh Steelers said they would never have let them use footage if they had known what the final product was going to look like.) One damn scary film that really represents most of the nightmares we have today.

And I can not tell you how many movies and TV shows were made in my home town on the street that I lived on, Vineland, No. Hollywood, Ca. BTW Universal Studios is on Vineland, No. Hollywood, Ca. it was about 3 miles down the road. Yep, born and raised in tinsel town but don't hold that against me, I left the minute I could and have never gone back.

But every year, on Oscar night, he wears his Holly Golighty little black dress with the pearls and the petite hat just to remember his childhood.

"I command in the name of the Senate and the people of ROME!"
LOL
Some other movies you can look up at IMDB and try to find.
I really enjoyed these:
Edges of the Lord - Haley Joel Osment
A Jewish city boy in WW2 is made to act Catholic and hidden with a Polish family in the country.
The Cider House Rules - Toby (Spiderman) McGuire and Michael Caine
Not much like the book, but good. A Depression Era/WW2 doctor runs an orphanage in rural Maine and performs abortions. He takes on an orphan boy as his successor, but the boy would rather pick apples than be an abortionist.
An Angel for May
A young boy falls through a time portal to WW2 England, where his actions will determine the future of a young orphaned girl that he knows as "Rosie" in his time - a homeless, crazy bag lady.

Oscar night, is he still alive? I thought he died.
and never ever did I have such an outfit, that would just be in total bad taste.
Serious thou they still give the Oscars out in September right? to the picture that buys the most votes.
Well that's what I herd.

I should add this movie to the list of worst movies ever:
Sorority Babes in the Slimeball Bowl-O-Rama (1988)
But that's a great title. Nothing else in the movie is any good unless you count naked boobs and asses or buckets of blood.

Dave likes bad movies and TV.
Read his reviews and witness.
Call it haute culture if you like.
