When I was a kid there was a channel on a TV station out of New York that showed movies all day long. The ones I liked the most were: King Kong, Son of Kong, Mighty Joe Young - all the original ones and The Lost Patrol.
In the original King Kong the first cut did not make it to the theatres until much later. It seems there was much more of Fay Wray showing than the censors at the time would alow.

Jema,
The latest HP flick sucked. It even flunked the fanatic 9 yo. readers' test...twice at once.
I very much enjoy Jackson's "Lord of the Rings" trilogy, although Talula will scream "Blasphemer!" at me.

As a kid, I read the books and I hated most of them, especially that damn Tom Bombadil. Of course, I also get to look at Legolas in the flicks, too, and Frodo is so precious...
My all-time favorite flick has to be the Roger Corman classic, "Deathrace2000" though, along with "Dawn of the Dead." Often imitated, never equaled.
