Indeed, in Germany we have this so called Kastrationsgesetz, which is intended for voluntary, mostly chemical castration of sex offenders. If you don't belong to this group, the law is completely useless for you.

Since October 2013 I'm looking for a legal way to get my genitals removed. I'm in contact with therapists who are well regarded, but all I was able to hear until now are things like “impossible” or “prohibited by law”. There seems to be almost no way for legal voluntary castration. The complete system is very afraid of removing healthy genitals. That's very frustrating. But I still have a little hope, as lately there seems to be a movement in my case that the doctors seem to accept I'm a MtE transgender and might try to give me a proper treatment based on this diagnosis, even if it will be difficult to convince all involved instances.

Thanks to both of you for the clarification. It obviously doesn't mean guys can board an airplane to Germany, have the surgery and fly home.

The way in germany is to destroy the testicles e.g. with ethanol and it is no problem to lose them and we all here have an insurance, so it does cost nothing and also the HRT is payed over the insurance without problems. :)

Voluntary castration without medical background is vorbidden, but, like I sayd above... ethanol is the very easy way.

Generally yes, here is the sexual orientation and what you are doing free for everything but nobody knows things about castration and eunuchism, so nobody like to talk about it. But generally also this is not real a problem and the people are fast curious about the theme, if you speak or write about it. :)

I like germany and can't me thinking a better place. :D
