The part of that which made me laugh was the guy with the snowblower. What was he clearing snow off of? The ski slope?

I can see the wires on the shark fins as they move through the snow.

And there's the obligatory coeds in hot tubs with bikinis and big tits.

Yes... what amused me is the co-ed that gets eaten in the hot tub. That shark isn't small, and it got her IN THE HOT TUB! Did no one notice flipper in there before they got in? Seems it would have been easy to spot in that small of a water container.

That would make sense.

Remember, there is no sense to a Sharknado movie.

The last Sharknado episode with the Space Shuttle was so scientifically trashy that I turned down the sound and ignored it.

For those who don't know or realize, the orbital speed of a space shuttle is 17,000 miles per hour. That's why when you watch a launch from nearby Cape Canaveral the "power" of the rocket actually shakes the ground for miles around. . . Not only that, the rockets don't go straight up.

(BTW - I saw a launch from Orlando Florida, so you don't have to be that close to see)... The rocket bends over to the east as it climbs and picks up speed. IT is a brutal event.

So, the circumference of the earth is roughly 25,000 miles and at a speed of 17,000 miles per hour, the shuttle and the space station and certain satellites circle the earth in 90 minutes 17,000 plus 1/2 of 17,000 or roughly 25,000. Simple math.

Every airplane or winged vehicle that flies with wings has a glide ratio -- that means for every mile in the air, the plane glides so many miles forward. However, the space shuttle's wings are so small for the size and weight of the shuttle that its glide aspect is that of a rock just throw a rick into the air and it falls in a predicted path -- that path is called a parabola.

When the space shuttle used to land, it broke the sound barrier from roughly before Texas to upper Florida and took aim at a runway at Cape Kennedy or Canaveral. The drag (friction, heat) of the atmosphere was what burnt the ceramic on the undercarriage like fire.

There is no way that a space shuttle could reach space and then fly along the atlantic coastline in the Sharknado movie. It was a rock and it just couldn't. Another fact is that there was never lots of fuel on the space shuttle. Enough for orbiting maneuvers and the braking burn but after that, the engines on the space shuttle could never get it back into orbit in an emergency. Think of the huge rocket required to put it in orbit. Those rockets on the back of the shuttle were small compared to the monster rocket that put it in orbit.

Sorry. It's Tuesday. I feel like shit warmed over and I wanted to bitch and whine about something.

This is better than me going on the political comment boards (don't ask where) and ragging out people online.

I'll rag out Sharknado.

If sharks can fly then the shuttle should be in with a bit of a chance?

Jeremy from CinemaSins on YouTube made a comment in his video "Everything Wrong With 'How to Train Your Dragon'" that seems to apply here.

When the one dragon hits his shot limit and runs out of fire, and the Viking punches him in the face: "Just because sharks run out of laser beams, doesn't mean they can't still kill people!"

Now that is every cliche of bad movie in 93 seconds. In fact, it may even be the longest 93 seconds of your life. Perhaps the most wasted 93 seconds of your life.

I'll reply with 2 videos ;-) :-p

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MSwJc7gQlOw (I'll translate the words - "takeoff speed was 330km/h")

So... technically it can, given there is fuel. (Buran was not that much different aerodynamically from Space Shuttle) Other problems still remain :) and it is still a flying clothes iron ;-).

PS. Yes, it is thread drift at its best.
