Lots of dogs, cats, cattle, horses are castrated. We are just animals as well, and if other animals don't lose too much bone and muscle, why should humans? Most race-horses are geldings. They still win races. Horses that jump at the Olympics are geldings. I don't think people should over-state the drawbacks of something we routinely do to other animals.
