More Government Bailouts

Post by Riverwind (imported) »

Is it just me or does anybody else think that it is wrong to bailout all these wall street company's. It adds to the national debt and leaves it up to us to pay for it.

If we cant pay our bills, we go in the trash (bankrupt) but if your a company on wall street, uncle sam gives you a bailout. So once again we are caught between the wall and the hard place. If the government does not fix this we suffer, if they fix this we suffer. So what the hell is the difference?

OH I know, we save rich people.

Tell me what the difference is then. Why does America have to bail out every country in this world. I feel America should be taking care of her own. But we do not need to send aid to the country of Georgia. Or Vietnam Or Korea Or China or a hundred other countries.

While I understand and sympathize with your feelings about bailing-out the rich-bitches who created this damned mess to begin with -- there is really no choice but to bail-out AIG -- the largest insurer of banks on the planet -- if we do not, the banking system is going to topple like dominoes, all the way down to the little banks -- the ones that hold your checking account and mortgage. That would be en even greater catastrophe than the one we're in. If local banks start failing, people lose faith in banks in general and thereafter, in the currency -- total meltdown.

It is in our own interest to do this bailout -- even if -- and I agree with you on this -- it SUCKS bigtime! 😠

If this is a loan then I hope we are charging plenty of interest, and the interest should go towards paying down the national debt.

BUT if this is a purchase let us call it what it is. That is we've nationalized these companies, and the profits ought toward paying down the national debt.

However if the Government is just throwing OUR money away let US get rid of the lot of them.

Prosecution for malpractice, not necessarily malfeasance, is in order. That old coot Greenspan needs to be the first. Courts ought to seize everything that old idiot owns. Then we need to seize the wealth of a great range of people including the president. And this included former President Clinton for not working against Greenspan. They have failed, failed, and failed. Instead, government will go after the small people, the people with mortgages the failed financial institutions allowed. What a mess. This is a revolutionary time. We need to make it our revolution. Guillotine the lot. 🙋

Well Todd Palin might actually like that, and really he might have the right idea. As a Californian I'm not sure we wouldn't be better off if the big one struck and we broke away from the mainland.
