Reflections of Nate

Post by Paolo »

I've debated on whether or not to say this in a post, but I have come to the conclusion, at the advice of A-1 in another post, to do so.

I just finished posting, last night, the 4 existing parts of this tale that I wrote for Bboy back in 2001. I had thought that part 4 was lost due to the crash of my old hard drive here last week. But I found it on a backup CD that I had made at Talula's in 2001. I cleaned the old text up, and now it's done.

Or as done as it gets. It's sort of a cliffhanger ending, not to spoil it for anyone.

The rest of the ideas, outlines, and pieces were between Bboy and I, and are lost forever - gone with him, I suppose.

At the end of Nate 4 is the following poem from Mary Frye, written in 1932. The story of Nate, as it is, is done. Perhaps now, the hurting is done as well.

In memory of Bboy.

Do not stand at my grave and weep,

I am not there, I do not sleep.

I am a thousand winds that blow.

I am the diamond glint on snow.

I am the sunlight on ripened grain.

I am the gentle autumn rain.

When you wake in the morning hush,

I am the swift, uplifting rush

Of quiet birds in circling flight.

I am the soft starlight at night.

Do not stand at my grave and weep.

I am not there, I do not sleep.

(Do not stand at my grave and cry.

😿 I am not there, I did not die!)😿 Mary Frye (1932)
