Due to further abuse of my remaining testicle, I started to have "hot flashes" and no erections at all. My penis shrunk so much it barely stuck out. I made an appointment with my endo-crinologist. She prescribed 50mg's of Testim (Testosterone gel) because my own levels were so low. However, my levels have been low for years because I was partially castrated (left one gone) and my right one severly abused. Now they're even lower.
When I tried this new Testosterone gel, the effect was way to much, physically it made me feel weird and I got nausea. I'm not sure what my Testosterone levels were before my left testicle was clipped from me, but it must have been high, because I was out of control sexually. For four years my T. level has remained at about 225lg, now it's even lower. The average is 300-1000 lg.
Question #1 - Some how though the ng/lg measurement must not be the same as the 50 mg amount. How can you figure this out? I want to just maintain some sexuality, (at least I think I do at this time), without going bonkers?
Question #2 - I've read that some pre-op Transsexuals shrink their genitals through estrogen use, but just how far do their penises shrink? I'm ready to be a true eunuch, but my now tiny penis looks like a large clitoris, and that bothers me. How could it shrink so much so soon?
Question #3 - My endo doc told me that the Testim would actually cause my remaining testicle to atrophy more and eventually become soft and dead. Is this true? It's like I can castrate myself with this stuff?
Question #4 - It's decision making time and I'm not sure what to do. Some eunuchs seem very satisfied, but how many of you are adding testosterone supplimentation?

Re: Testim Usage to maintain erections
Hello! I understand your frustration. I think first that she is giving you 5 mgs. 50 is a body building solution , not used for replacement therapy. My Mistress, significant other, wishes for me to be on the patch so I can maintain an errection for her use and pleasure. I am fully castrated, and this seems to work. My erections at this level will not win any awards but, they function well enough for penetration. It kinda depends on what you want???? Or what your spouce wants????? Eventually I will stop the T and just get to the full feel of the lack of that. I understand it to be wonderful. Remember this sis a process as I have been told.... take your time... go slow..... let your body tell you what it wants and needs. It workks better that way. If you have any questions you can email me direct at jjfmiller41@aol.com or write and reply here. and so it goes..... Scottie

Re: Testim Usage to maintain erections
Hello Hash,
I can give you some answers to question #2, and some insight on question #3. As you may or may not know, I've been on hormones for almost three years. I seek to greatly reduce the *T* in my system by means of female HRT. In my personal experience, I have lost about half the total lenght of the penis and testes have shrunk to about 1/3 their original size. This, of course, all has to do with how each individual responds to castration effects. Without spontaneous and nocturnal erections, atrophy may result. Not everyone will achive results, and some more so than others. As far as hot flashes and night sweats go, I've been lucky and not had any to speak of. Also, I prefer the effects of being chemically castrated so far.
As for question #3, while taking *T* replacment, your body is being fooled into thinking that the testacles are still proucing it, and since they are no longer producing it, they may shut down totally which can result in castration. Your doctor know's what she's talking about. I don't claim to be an expert, but I've gathered much information from reputable sources, and it seems that most agree with these views.
Your last question can only be answered by yourself. You need to decide what is best for you. Do you need to remain sexualy active and risk losing what little chance you have of saving the remaining testacle? Or, are reproductive issues in question? Would you consider being a sperm donor? I suggest having your doctor explain some of the options available to you. It sounds like time is a luxury you can not afford, you should do something soon if it's not too late already.
I hope you make a choice that is right for you. Let us know what you decide to do.

Regarding testicular atrophy due to test supplementation: I don't believe it is irreversable. Yes your testicles do shrink when on steroids, but they will resume normal operation once you stop.

After about 6 months to 1 year the atrophy does become permanent YMMV. Many body builders have found out the hard way (using Steroids). This is true for estrogen use also, and with estrogen use once breast growth (ie milk ducts develop) you will need surgery to remove them.

I used steroids heavily for about seven years. The testicles did get hard and small, but they definitely recovered.

It's one of those "Your milage may Vary" things. For some the testicles will never recover, for some the testicles recover but there are stirle, and for some make a full recovery. Also it depends on if you cycled the steroids or not, and the type and dosage has a effect on the outcome also.
