It's a baby watch.

We know this because the bookies in London have quit taking bets on the day and time and are now taking bets on the name and what the mother will wear when she leaves the hospital and how fast that dress sells out. There's lots of tourists in London for the event. (hint, hint, $$$)

The news goes from the politically argumentative in the USA to the socially silly baby talk with whole segments devoted to the "baby to be" ...

There's going to be a 50 or 60 cannon salute for the new kid.

Anyone who's had a kid knows the insanity of predicting when the kid leaves the womb and how the hell do they talk about that on TV and not laugh like the fools they are...

Some of the newspeople admit that they know the sex of the child but are forbidden to say before the official announcement. I wonder what the punishment is? Tower of London's torture chamber or hanging from London Bridge??

It's a piece of good news...

I gotta say the Brits know how to have fun and throw a party and make it last for weeks.

It's a boy...

8 lbs and 4 ounces

They haven't chosen a name yet.

Charles and Diana took a week to name William.

First the baby needs 4 names and not a combination that has been used before and not JOHN the most common name in the English language.

Now the pools will start as to what the boy's name will be, I like FRED.

It won't be David because of history.

And I don't say that because I write using "Dave" ... I say that because the last David abdicated that that was the worst sin of British Royalty. As a friend of mine pointed out - the Brits still haven't forgiven "Bessie Wallis Warfield" who became "Wallis, Duchess of Windsor"

So no Edward and No David.

And if this new Prince of Cambridge becomes kin, he may take a new name for his reign.

That's all very Hoity Toity, isn't it?

The conspiracies are flying already.

Apparently, this kid is the AntiChrist.

Maybe they'll name him Lucifer?

Ok John is out as is Paul, George and Ringo.

Henry James Charles Philip

That's my guess or some combination of such.

John was also one of the worst kings in England's history.

George would be a safe choice. The last Richard came to a bad end, so that's probably not a good choice. Charles and William are probably out, since the next two kings will be Charles and William. Kings used to give their sons the same first name as theirs but not recently. James is a possibility. Henry is already taken - Prince Harry, and two named Prince Harry might be confusing.

I'm going with George or James with Charles as my third choice.

Well... Fred is possible.

George V (George Frederick Ernest Albert)

was King from 6 May 1910 – 20 January 1936.

Edward VIII (Edward Albert Christian George Andrew Patrick David; later The Duke of Windsor;

Was king of England for less than a year. He was known to his family as "David" ...

He was king from 20 January 1936 – 11 December 1936

His brother, George VI (Albert Frederick Arthur George)

Was king from 14 December 1895 – 6 February 1952.

George VI and his wife (Elizabeth Angela Marguerite Bowes-Lyon (4 August 1900 – 30 March 2002)) stayed in London during the Blitz to rally the Brits in WW2. He is also the "stutterer" king in the movie THE KING'S SPEECH.

That rather wonderful movie reaches its climax not long before his brother's abdication and the start of WW2. It is a tale both glorious and sad.

These two are followed by Elizabeth II -- (Elizabeth Alexandra Mary)

Who is still alive along with her husband Prince Phillip-- the Father of Charles, Anne, Andrew, and Edward... grandfather of William and Harry.

He has only one first name -- Phillip because he is Prince of House of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg, which is the royal family of Norway and Greece. European royalty is quite complicated. Lord Mountbatten, 1st Earl of Burma is his Uncle.

AS I said above, you can throw into this mix the man informally know as Lord Mountbatten... He is from the same royal family as Prince Phillip. They were both navy men in WW2.

Louis Francis Albert Victor Nicholas Mountbatten, 1st Earl of Burma and Prince Louis of Battenberg.

He is important because he was a surrogate grandfather to Charles, Prince of Wales (Father to William, the baby's father)

He is: Charles Philip Arthur George

Princess Diana's father was royalty (Diana was not a commoner.)

He was: Edward John Spencer, 8th Earl Spencer, and son of Albert, Spencer, the 7th Earl Spencer.

I say they name the kid Victoria. That would throw the odds makers (and the public) into a tizzy.
