SEVEN PSYCHOPATHS and IN BRUGES

Post by Dave (imported) »

I'm watched SEVEN PSYCHOPATHS last night and enjoyed the sheer crazy lunacy of whatever that movie is supposed to be. It is a violent movie but not a movie that adores and worships violence. Christopher Walken is quiet, subtle, and brilliant in his portrayal of one of the psychopaths. Only Christopher Walken coud pull off that ending monologue.

One might say the alternate title was "For Love of a Shi-Tzu" which is the comedy part of the story.

Colin Ferrell and Martin McDonaugh (writer/director) worked on "IN BRUGES" together and that was effing excellent. Like IN BRUGES this is part comedy. Like IN BRUGES there is something in this screenplay that makes the film worthy and noble. McDonaugh is excellent in creating these strange, bizarre worlds populated by rather flawed men and yet, in the end, we find some form of salvation.

So I recommend SEVEN PSYCHOPATHS.

Thanks, I'll hunt it down. I was only in our theatres for a short time.
