HELL ON WHEELS (on AMC)
A yarn about the first RR across the USA after the Civil War.
I'm not impressed enough to give a mess of opinion. It's at a time on Sundays that I can watch without rushing or care that it moves slow.
My most vivid thought has been "YUCK are they filthy, filthy, filth dirty.
And I'm not a clean phreak

The Colm Meany charactar is another Swerengen.
Both have historical basis.
I am giving it a chance but not a believer in "Hell on Wheels" yet.
Suburgatory, American Horror Story and Terra Nova have been good to me.
But, not as wonderful as Lingerie Football League http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lingerie_Football_League

Re: HELL ON WHEELS (on AMC)
Seems to be slow and ponderous like some Euro production.
Needs more story per minute
and less feel-y per minute.
What a waste of production money and talent / minute.
And to think "they" cancelled "V"

Re: HELL ON WHEELS (on AMC)
The newest episode seems to confirm. Slow, plodding, too feely. I sense Euro-crap! Oh the waste.
Probably will continue to watch it in the hope it gets, better. Not as good TV. Maintenance TV.
I notice HBO and AMC seem to share actors as if it were a studio system.
The tall Irishman in HBO Boardwalk is in Hell on Wheels.
Charlie Udder & Preacher from HBO Deadwood are in Sons of Anarchy.

Re: HELL ON WHEELS (on AMC)
How in the world would it be possible to take the subject where about every type of human character and drama is at your fingertips and turn it into a yawn?
Must be English majors.

Re: HELL ON WHEELS (on AMC)
The things you people are complaining of are why we never get good TV anymore.
The "I want it and I want it NOW!" attitude is why networks cancel things. You complain about the V remake going off-air, well it's because everyone wants immediate gratification - the networks, the audience, etc. They won't let a story develop anymore like they did when there were 3-4 networks and that was it. I've seen a ton of good stuff go off-air because it didn't get to the "exciting" parts fast enough. Me? I like story development, development of characters, etc. Apparently all that sells anymore is sex, blood, and explosions.
So enjoy your Jersey Shore, Big Brother, Survivor, Bachelor/ette, and other crap like that. It's all you're going to get.
