Re: New Zealand
If you have genuine medical reason you should be able to get them done but you maybe need to approach it obliquely with the quack oops I mean urologist, Starting with your GP complain about the lack of progress with your condition and the problems (use your imagination here - a bit of exaggeration wouldnt hurt) you have with it. Keep pressing him until you get to see a urologist and keep up the same routine of complaint with him gradually leading up to saying you would rather be without them. Then just keep pestering him until he finally gives in. You must appear to be reluctant but willing to consider it since everything else is not working. Any exhibition of enthusiasm will label you as a possible nut case in his eyes which will cause him to run for cover.
Another option would be to get a trained vet to do it and third but less reliable option of getting an amateur cutter to do it which may be risky. Although I have talked with a number of people who have been done successfully that way but there are occasional reports in the papers where it has gone wrong but even then the worst usually is that you go to a hospital and get it all tidied up hopefully keeping it out of the newspapers.

The medical school in Dunedin might we looking for a volunteer for future surgeons to sharpen their skills on.

Re: New Zealand
I went to Dunedin U. 50 yrs ago unfortunately not as a medical student but as an engineer or I would have at least been able to provide you with reference to a suitable urologist. Maybe a holiday in Thailand to see one of the Sex Reassignment surgeons over there might do it but faking a problem until the NZ doctor agrees to take them finally out of frustration might still be best. All depends how well you can fake it. Good luck mate
