Senator John McCain was answering questions at a public gathering when one man asked what American should do about Iran.

McCain began sing the words, "Bomb. bomb, bomb...bomb, bomb Iran" to the tune of the old Beach Boys song..."Barbara Ann."

Funny yes, but is this the kind of guy you want for president? Then again Reagen on the South Lawn testing the mike said "test, test, The bombing starts on Russia in 5 minutes" this put everybody in the world on allert and Reagen, he said "it was a joke".

At one time, I strongly supported Senator McCain for President. He SHOULD have won the Republican primary, and HE should have been our President for the past six, now almost seven years. Unfortunately, the GOP got in bed with the "religious right" and we got the worst of the Republican candidates.

Now, after I had so strongly supported Senator McCain, I feel sorry to say that I no longer do, it seems to me that Senator McCain has, like the Republican party, been wooed by the "religious right." He has weighed in on the abortion issue on the WRONG side. Odd thing, I personally am opposed to abortions, but I think there should be no government law against it, just people's personal choice against it. I will never support the politician who thinks it is the government's place to make those personal choices for the people.

It is not only the abortion issue. Senator McCain could and should have run independently against Bush, he would have won. Instead, he remained in the Senate, and in my opinion he "carried water" for President Bush throughout his reign of idiocy.

I agree with you Deacon but...THIS is the joke section, not the political board. Best to state your opinions of Senator McCain there

I'm sorry Mac, but I don't agree you on this one. Any joke about bombing Iran is political by it's very nature, though for some reason bombing Detroit is not. I don't know why that is, but I guess it has something to do with the current political climate. Even River responded to it in a political way. May be the best thing to do is move the thread to the political section.

Who knows maybe we need a Political Joke Section? On second thought that sounds a bit scary. Please forget I mentioned it.

Wha?! HUH? This is the JOKE section? Oh! OH my goodness! So sorry, I really did not notice that when I posted my previous rant. Really, I just responded with what I had been thinking, did not even notice what section I was in.
