Remember When...?

REMEMBER WHEN.....
All the girls had ugly gym uniforms
It took five minutes for the TV to warm up.
When you could leave your front door unlocked during the day.
Nearly everyone's mom was at home to greet the kids coming from school.
Nobody owned a purebred dog.
When a quarter was a decent allowance.
You'd reach into a muddy gutter for a penny.
All your male teachers wore dresshirts and neckties and your female teachers wore dresses and heels.
You got your windshield washed, oil checked and gas pumped without asking.
Laundry detergent had had free glasses, dishes or towels inside the box.
When being sent to the principal's office was nothing compared to the fate that awaited the student when he got home.
I sometimes wonder if all of the items above were ever anyone's reality or do I just remember it from decent family programming like Father Knows Best or Leave it to Beaver.
