I know Z. is!

After watching the show, I want to extend congratulations and thank you's to everyone involved in the show. It took a lot of "balls" and nerves to do that, and I'm not sure, were I in your place, that I could have done that.

Well done, all. I didn't find the show too over-the-top, although I could have done without some of the (sadly true) hillbilly comments about Master Rick and his cohorts. It just goes to show how deeply intolerance is ingrained in some.

Once you get past that, though, it's a good program and very informative and insightful, I think.

Also, since I know he's on the Boards, I want to say a special 'thank you' to Z. (Hompty) for his role in the program too. I thought his parts were very well and tastefully done, as well as being quite emotional and insightful. Regards to Mom as well, for being there and being so supportive.

Nice dog, by the way ... tell Dad.

I'm really glad you posted this Paolo. I hope you don't mind if I bring over something you've said in another thread, relating to TheFraj :

Think of it this way - if seeing you on television or hearing you on the radio (and that goes for everyone else in the Eunuchs BBC video too!) causes even ONE person to NOT harm themselves, to NOT do something stupid, or even prevents them from stepping out in front of a speeding bus, then it has all been worth it.

I'm putting it here too because I think it's such an important point you've made.

I think TheFraj and Z both represented their situations (and their communities) extremely well and, hopefully, enlightened some people and gave great confidence to others.

In the This Morning interview TheFraj made the point that there were thousands of members here but also many thousands of others who read the boards but don't feel confident enough to register. An excellent point.

I know I'm coming from a slightly different perspective but I can honestly relate to your comments regarding stopping someone doing harm to themselves or even worse.

That terrible lonely road when you feel like you are the only one travelling it, that possibly dangerous route of either self-medication or self-surgery, the almost total lack of reliable information, that belief that NO-ONE else out there is going through what you are.

It isn't true of course, many of us are going down similar roads, not the same but definitely similar, and sometimes I think we're our own worst enemies because it's so hard to come out and be open about it thus the cycle of ignorance continues as does the cycle of secrecy and shame.

Seeing people such as Roger and Z definitely gives me encouragement and hope and I'm absolutely sure there are many, many people who've read about the documentary on here, seen the This Morning interview etc. without ever daring to register. All those people will now feel less isolated.

No-one can represent EVERYONE in ANY community but Roger and Z have done the most important thing of all ... they've brought it out into the open, made it something that doesn't have to be hidden in a corner and probably made many people feel much less alone.

I congratulate anyone for being brave enough to do that.

I have yet to see the show but I wanted to thank Z and Roger in advance.

channel 4, not bbc

I was able to download and assemble the BBC 4 Documentary video today and watch it.

I did like most of interviews, Especially with Roger and Z.

It was very tasteful and unbiased in most respects. However the comments by some of the population around Master Rick and his services were of mostly closed minded individuals.

It's quite interesting how the BBC TV can show full frontal male nudity, where as here in the US we would not have ever shown that.

I guess that shows how closed minded we are here in the US.

Thanks Roger and Z for sharing your inner most thoughts and feelings on this very touchy subject and bringing it to light and showing that we are not all freaks or sickos.

Also Roger, I did enjoy watching the interview that you had posted to youtube.

Also, the Youtube upload is done at a lower resolution, of course. All 6 parts of the video are there, as it had to be <10 minutes chunks.

I came here a couple years ago because I was pensive about the prospect of becoming a eunuch (because of an injury) and I wanted to understand what "eunuch" meant. I found out that I was not alone. I've run the gambit of feelings that everyone here has expressed. We may take different paths and live different lives but we aren't so different.

The honesty and vulnerability of the interviews really touched me. Thank you Z and Roger. You allowed us to see your humanity with honesty, dignity and eloquence.
