Male/Female/Other

On the Political Discussions forum one of our newest members has asked for thoughts, ideas, and help toward a possible revision of the Gender Recognition Bill in the UK. The bill is a mostly enlightened effort to allow the t/g population to change official records (birth certificates, driver’s licenses, passports, etc.). The current effort is to extend the definition of genders beyond simple “male” and “female” to encompass the variety of possibilities that are found in the real world. The goal is to allow more choices for gender on official documents.

I would hope that anyone reading the Archive who is interested in questions of gender (that means ALL of us) would read the lengthy first post on the thread and consider ways to help the important effort. UK members, especially, will be directly affected by any changes that can be made:
