I am celebrating my birthday tomorrow on the 21st as I may be busy on the 24th.

Just wanted you all to know.

I am having this big dinner, turkey, dressing, yams, biscuits, gravy, pies etc. A feast fit for someone of my declining years. (only biscuits knows about this) I plan on enjoying the shortest day of the year celebrating the winter solstice and burning a yule log. Rupert will be joining me for the feast.

course you do look a tad older than river, but then you'll both ALWAYS be older'n me - whoo whee.

Celebrating your 60th Birthday is certainly better than the alternative. Just think of getting older as almost being finished, and having only so much more shit to go through in this life. A few more decades and you'll be ready to graduate.

Congratulations on achieving one full cycle of the Chinese calendar. Most westerners know of the 12 calendrical animals, but there is also a cycle of the 10 heavenly stems. You were born in the year of the Fire Dog and this is the next Fire Dog year to occur! (Don’t tell Rupert that you belong to the year of the dog!)

I think it entirely appropriate to celebrate on the winter solstice. The days only get longer and brighter after this.

I hope your celebration is wonderful and that you have many more happy years to come.
