sorry if im posting this in the wrong area on this site, but several months ago there used to be a personals pages where we could hook up with others via messages and email, can anyone please tell me where its gone, or have i just not noticed it?

if it is gone, will it ever come back to this site?

Several months ago hackers hacked into the Eunuch Archive website and they did a lot of damage big time. A lot of material here was lost forever from what I understand.

The moderators and the people who run this website saved a lot of material and they got the message boards and story archive back up and running. It took a lot of time, effort, and hard work by the moderators to get things running again and make sure the site is as secure from hackers as possible, and I again want to thank them for their time efforts and hard work.

I don't know if the personals pages will ever get started or back up again, but I think the personals pages were among the victims of the hackers.

For now the personals are dead, and likely will remain that way unless IEunuch decides to tackle something like that - which I would suspect is about 904 on the list of priorities.

Im sorry to hear that hackers ruined the site, its the first ive heard about that (i guess i should read the posts in more detail) it makes me wonder why these sad looses would do such a thing, i mean whats in it for them? if EA was a bank ide understand but this is absolutly stupid on their part.

I really hope it will be secure enough to get a new personals database again.

There has to be a special place in Hell for people like the hackers who hacked in here and caused all the problems. There has to be a special place in Hell for people who for their own enjoyment ruin things and cause problems like that for others and who upset others like that. If there is not a special place in Hell for people like that, there should be. I was raised to respect other people's property and what they have. I just don't understand what enjoyment people like that get out of upsetting and causing problems for others.

Narrow minded people exist to be self important. They need a cause. we just happened to be it that day. Trust me, we will get everything back at some point. I believe LuvPain is about done with the personals. He did this on his own, without solicitation. He is a good guy. IEunuch has done a marvelous job of reconstituting the Phoenix from the wreckage, and he did it with no prior web knowledge at all. He is GAWD! He told me he felt guilty getting books and stuff from donated money, and I reminded him that he did infact need them to accomplish the mission and we are all better off for it. He has not gotten anything for his efforts, nor does he want anything. He is just one of us that call this site home. I seriously hope that it still is for him and does not become a Job (and hence all the fun goes out of it)

I might add, he is not alone. Krister tirelessly monitors these message boards as does Robbie and Jesus. we may be entering a 'next generation' of volunteers, but everyone is trying so hard to stay true to the mission and i applaud you all for that.

Also, of note to this thread. IEunuch actually reads e-mails with suggestions.

This may be a good time for a reminder that the Archive exists only on donations, both time and money. Please consider making a small cash donation to the cause. IE has used the previous donations for hardware, software, and reference books to keep everything running. All of his time to do this is donated.

I do this for the prestige that it brings to me along with exposure to people of great power and influence. And, of course, because the voices in my head tell me to do it. --FLO--

You hearing the same voices i do Uncle Flo? Maybe we can get a choir instructor to get them all to sing in the same key.

It's a shame that people need to destroy what some work so hard to make nice for others. Would enjoy seeing it back in the future if posable.
