Eunuch sleeplessness

Woke up this morning at 3:30 and could not get back to sleep. Went to bed around 10pm. That's 5 1/2 hours and this has been going on for a long time. You would think I'd be a Zombie, but that's not the case, though at times during the day I have trouble concentrating. I had been taking some over the counter sleeping pills regularly since my castration, but my sinuses got so dried out that my nose started bleeding, so I had to stop. I was not sleeping very well prior to my castration and now it's getting worse. I am on lose dose HRT and I get tired during the afternoon, but still can't nap, even if I had the time. I've tried a lot of teas, remedies, etc. I also know that there are a lot of people who have trouble sleeping. Should I try the need sleep aid, what's it called? Rozerim? Hash

Sleep deprivation is caused by many stimuli, have you given Apnea any thought?

I have the same thing - have managed on 4-5 hours a night for many many years. a fifteen minute nap about 1-2 pm, and I am fine till late at night. Lately I seem to need another hour or so. I ascribe it to high energy levels naturally occuring, and reinforced with focused mania resulting from bipolar issues. On occasion, I need a little help from Ambien to sleep. I dont seem to experience much of the fatigue many other eunuchs seem to have (though most get past that,,,). Besides, sleep is such a waste of time...

I also can wake too soon and feel like getting up because my body has warmed. I take a trip to the bathroom, cool down and go back to bed with the intention of resting, not sleeping. I normally drift off again, but then don't fret if I cannot. Sometimes I do get up early - prime time !

Hash,
Seemed like I needed less sleep after my castration. But there was difficulty sleeping as well.
Something Mr. T suggested for improved sleep is progesterone cream. You apply it at bedtime and it really works. Although it helped my sleep, I stopped using it because it dried up my emotions. Progesterone cream is non-feminizing and is available over the counter, in the menopausal-relief section of pharmacies.
Estrogen also gives improved sleep, but I don't think you want the side effects...

Try decadurobolin if you don't want erections. It will help you sleep. Get the doctor to prescribe about 100mg / twice a wk. If you don't mind erections get 100mg/day of lipoderm creme (compounding pharmacy) taken half in morn and half in afternoon.
Androgel may not be good for you. It can raise blood pressure and cause water retention.
Good luck, it is a fairly common problem,
