West Coast of USA Meeting of Eunuch and Friends

This is the start of the planning of the West coast of the states Meeting of Eunuch and friends. Now that the Midwest event is history and a success it is time to push ahead with the next meeting. Right now all options for location are open for the meeting. Some of the suggestions have been Vancouver Canada, Seattle WA, Portland OR, San Francisco CA, Los Angeles, and San Diego CA. Other suggestions for location are open. With all the West Coast members I would hope the meeting would be three times as large as the Midwest one.

Please vote in the poll and post to the tread your desires so we have a good idea where members will be coming from. You need to vote soon for we need to make arrangements for camping and motel rooms. Right now we are shooting for the weekend of August 12, 13, 14. You are more than welcome to just come for the day on Saturday. If a different weekend is desired please post to the thread. The other weekend option could be August 4, 5, 6. From the chat room most seem to want the meeting in the beginning of August.

I'm looking forward to the West Coast meeting and have blocked out both suggested weekends until we get more members to chime in with their preferences.

I would suggest that we not meet at either the far south (San Diego/Los Angeles) or the far north (Vancouver/Seattle), but somewhere closer to the middle (Portland/San Francisco Bay Area). There needs to be at least one local arrangements person to check everything out before a final decision as to place is made. Price, as well as suitability for a boisterous and happy crowd, should be a consideration. This may direct us more toward Portland, which is much less expensive than San Francisco.

As soon as we have a general location chosen and a local person willing to check out venues, I'm ready to help with further details.

Portland sounds good to me. Of course, my living there does influence my vote somewhat.

Also, I'll be glad to help with arrangements. You don't want me to cook, though. My cooking skills are limited to warming things up in the microwave and heating things up on the stovetop.

Cooking should not be an issue. I am sure we can come up with a cheif to take care of us. Was easy last weekend.

anywhere works for me too, I still don't know my August schedule at work but i am off every other week. I will let you know tomorrow they are too con-fooooo-sed to figure it out on day shift so I will call the other night dude tonight.

Jesus makes a very good suggestion. Some place where everyone could meet that isn't too far for others. We'd also need someone from the area to find a good spot to meet.

I am counting on going but my plans may change after the end of this month. That is when I go see a surgeon to decide if/when I need back surgery. So right now I can't say it's a deffinate yes for me.

I would hope to be able to attend at a western event, but alas that may not be possible on the dates suggested. As previously noted, I'll be in central Canada from late July 'til Aug 19. I'm doing the marathon at the Out Games in Montreal (August 5), and my partner and I are doing our long holiday in and about central Canada this summer. Even if we weren't away, the earlier weekend suggestion coincides with annual Pride events in Vancouver. We're lucky BTW that, while we'll miss that annual event in Vancouver, we'll be able to catch Montreal's.

I of course voted to hold the event in Vancouver, BC, but can understand why a central location, such as OR state or even northern CA, might be chosen.

Hmmmmmm I just found out i will be on Vancouver island the 12 13 and 14th but i may be able to be their for the earlier dates.
