Hi Jenna,
First of all, were you aware of the Transgender Discussion Forum here at EA? It's a little out of the way and doesn't see much traffic, unfortunately, but here's a link:

With regard to finding a doctor for castration, I recommend Dr. Kimmel in Philadelphia. He doesn't require any psychologist letters, he just asks enough questions to make sure you understand what you are in for. (He doesn't want unsatisfied patients.) The price back in April was $2000. His number is (215) 563-0847.
Welcome to EA!
Bryan

Well, if you want to do things the right way, go see yourself a therapist. You'll have to jump through the hoops, but then, you'll have to do it anyway, for the letter of referral for final SRS, even though you can get hormones cheap and illegal (which is a bad thing, must have doctor supervision). For a list of therapists and doctors who work with trans issues, check
www.tg2tg.org Pretty extensive and comprehensive list.

Welcome and good luck in your search. I found my happiness as a eunuch and most everyone will be helpful and supportive.

Yes, this is definitely a wonderful and supportive group, definitely a good place to talk about this. Not that it's really my place to offer advice, but it's important to see a counselor or psychotherapist before doing anything irreversible.
Surgery is a major decision and the support with this is essential. That now said, I can definitely recommend Dr Kimmel. But to be honest, being trangendered should mean with enough therapy and recommendations you should be able to see someone much closer to home, which should be much more comfortable (and probably cheaper!) and will probably work out better for you in the long run!
Wishing you all the best on your decision,
~Rog
