I kept waiting for curious guy to post the final chapter of Sander, but he hasn't, so I've written my version of it. It's posted on my web site:

Sander -- the conclusion (http://www.slammr.com/pages/Sander.htm)

Should I posted it here?

Since the original author abandoned it, someone else picked it up, but hasn't done it yet, I'd say go right ahead.

As it stands, the story is open for endings.

We can change the titles to reflect alternate endings, much like the ones you see on DVD's now.

I read it, and I like the twist.

It will be interesting to see who ends it in which way.

Well done.

My other beta reader sent me some suggestions which I incorporated into the story and he said that he was going to send me some detailed suggestions and comments. I have been waiting for the detailed suggestions and comments. Unfortunately I have not heard from him since May 4 and he has not been on the archive since May 12. I hope I have not said anything that offended him or made him think I do not value his contributions.

While I waited I kept finding things I wanted to change or add to the story. I will wait a few more days and if I do not hear from him, I will finish and upload my Sander conclusion without his input.

I have no objections to you uploading your version of the Sander conclusion except if it is a rewrite of what I sent you, I want you to say so in the introduction so that people do not think that I rewrote your story.

I am curious to see which ending people like better. Maybe after both versions are published, we can have a poll of some kind.

If you had objected to my posting the story, I wouldn't have posted it. Here's the intro to the story:

Curious guy asked me to beta read his version of the conclusion of Sander. I did. It was written well. I just didn't like the ending, or part of his approach to the story, so offered my suggestions. Once he got me started on the story, I wanted to finish it.

I liked Timothy's "Sander." He did a great job capturing the "voice" of a kid. I haven't tried to copy Timothy. If I had, it would have only been a poor imitation. Instead, I've written it using my own style, realizing that is missing some of the original charm of Timothy's "Sander."

Some of the first part of my version is a rewrite of what curious guy sent me. That was done to establish continuity to the previous chapter, which he wrote. If -- when he posts his version of "Sander" -- you notice a similarity between the start of each story, I want to acknowledge that I wrote mine having read his first, not the other way around, even if mine is posted on the Archive first. Also, had not curious guy sent me his version, I would never written mine. So, no matter which version of "Sander" you like, curious guy gets the credit for the story being concluded.

You can also find the story, along with other stories I've written at: http://www.slammr.com/pages/Sander.htm

I look forward to reading both versions, but I don't think a poll on them would be a good idea.

I would suggest all Sander fans send email instead.

I don't like the poll idea either. I don't consider it to be a contest between curious guy and me. Besides, not many the people who post to the bulletin board read the stories.

I love Sanders story and joined this forum just a while ago to find out whatever happened to it. I'm glad someone will still be working on it, but does it have to be a conclusion? It's so well written that I think a few more chapters could be added. I'm no author, but it's great work, the best I've seen.

The conclusion I am working on is four chapters.

:D oh yes, that is lovely. But still, if anyone makes more of sander I would love it.

The reason I like sander so much is when I was four my father left, and well now i'm realizing the reason I have these feelings is that I was never really been loved by a male role figure. So I like sander alot, and I mean, I wish I was him.... ahhhh. :D

Oh and curios i like your writing, I like sander the way he was, innocent and young..

Thanks for writing it guys, what happened to the orginial artist, or did u just he just change his name?

🙏

Part nine was real good. I enjoyed that the lives of the slaves were more developed in this issue. can't wait for the next one. 👀
