Heartwarming war refugee story

A few years ago a refugee from Laos came to the US in one of the resettlement influxes. He had been an announcer in radio back in Laos, and he wanted to get into the same line of work here. The first thing he did was join AFTRA (American Federation of Television and Radio Announcers). He tried to pursue a job, but of course, he had problems with the English language, being a new resident.

In order to keep body and soul together while going to English classes, he took up barbering. Soon, he became a very good barber, giving haircuts, stylings, and shaves. He seemed to be an artist with the straight razor. In fact, the shop where he worked made him specialize in giving shaves.

Thus, he became known as an AFTRA shave Laotian.

Bravo! That may be the funniest thing I've ever read on eunuch.org... sad, isn't it. Call me square, but I love this kind of rim-shot humor.

BTW: I didn't see you put your two cents in on the recent thread about the right or wrongs of stories about children on eunuch.org. What are your thoughts?

My thoughts are that I use the Eunuch Archives to share experience, strength, and hope with other eunuchs. The EA is about the only place on the Internet where this can be done without spammers and droolers. (Mostly). I would be unhappy if some outside force used the issue of stories about children to shut down the EA. As such, I will leave it to the Moderators of the EA to decide how to handle this.
