New Board

Hi all,

Maybe I'm not as cybernetically advantaged as most of you good people and it's taking me a while to get used to this new board.

No doubt I will come right with it in time but there is one small teeny change that could be made. I do not like this dark blue colour. It is depressing. I much preferred the creamy tan colour on the old board.

Also the dark background on alternate posts gives poor contrast and can make it more difficult to read. I think Limpone once mentioned a similar problem.

Other than that, great.

The other board, I believe (?) alternated colors too, right? Is it just that the dark is too dark? I haven't personally had any problems with it, but that doesn't mean anything.

The color scheme that is here now is the 'default' vbulletin scheme and was the easiest thing to do since there was a lot of other 'functional' programing to be done before the board went online.

I would love to hear more opinions on color scheme ... should it more closely match the rest of the Archive with the kind of muted, relaxed colors?

Oh, oh. You might get all kinds of advice. I founded and run two internet sites myself, and the color scheme is light green (well, "Kelly" is Irish, yes?). I have seen some eunuch sites in the past that were very dark; even brown sometimes (it seems that some folks equate castration with darkness for some reason).

Personally, I like bright, cheery colors. :) But, most folks here are guys and might hate that kind of scheme.

Anyway, my two cents, which might not be worth a whole lot here. ;)

Love,

Kelly

I find the color scheme is just fine. I find color scheme that do not give any contrast a problem to read, and that includes colors that are the same brightness.

Too dark? I have painstakingly balanced my monitor with Photoshop 6's gamma controller and I find it too LIGHT. Way too light. IN fact, I wish the gray backdrop were darker, something on the issue of 3x90cc's in color. One hint to make it turn your contrast up as HIGH as it will go, since many monitors suffer from "mud disease", and then adjust the brightness accordingly.:p

BBoy,

Do whatever color that you like but stay away from orange. I once had a jump suit that was that color and I hated it...

I rather like this colour scheme. Very easy on the eyes (at least on my monitor), and quite tasteful and professional (unlike some of the posters :tongueout )

I say keep it.

Go to the bottom of the thread, and you can modify the typeface and colour.

As others have said, I like the mauve and grey, but hey - that's my choice.

To each his own. Personally I like the current color scheme, which I find both handsome and readable
