Another very nice, brief story from Pueros. While I cannot attest to the historic accuracy of the overall plot, the key element is accurate, though I have seen it in only ONE English language publication before Pueros’ fictional treatment. It is to be found in Eunuchs in Antiquity and Beyond, edited by Shaun Tougher (Swansea: The Classical Press of Wales, 2002). I won’t spoil the story by saying what it is here. Nicely done, and it COULD all be true.
