WORDS OF WISDOM

* Don't name a pig you plan to eat.

* Life is not about how fast you run, or how high you climb, but how

well you bounce.

* Life is simpler when you plough around the stump.

* Words that soak into your ears are whispered, not yelled.

* Meanness doesn't happen overnight.

* Don't sell your mule to buy a plough

* Don't corner something meaner than you.

* It doesn't take a very big person to carry a grudge.

* You can't unsay a cruel thing.

* Every path has some puddles.

* The best sermons are lived, not preached.

* Live a good, honorable life. Then when you get older and think back,

you'll enjoy it a second time.

* The biggest troublemaker you'll probably ever have to deal with

watches you shave his face in the mirror every morning.

* If you get to thinking you're a person of some influence, try ordering

somebody else's dog around.

* Good judgment comes from experience, and a lot of that comes from bad

judgment.

* Never miss a good chance to shut up.

Hmmm... I often think I would rather have hatched out of the egg already knowing all of life's little secrets. Then I consider how this aspect of experience allows us all to feel good about our fuck-ups; it lessens the sting to think at least you're learning something. Think how much it would suck if we already knew it all and still screwed the pooch at every turn.

What brought that on?
