Several years ago, someone posted onto an internet newsgroup a copy of a medical journal article from a couple of decades ago, about a man who showed up at an ER with a foul-smelling, bandaged, swollen scrotum. After the doctors did the necessary surgery (unilateral or bilateral castration, I don't remember), the man finally told them that he worked in a machine shop, and one day, when everyone else had left for lunch, he had used one of the machines that had a belt on it, to try to get himself off, but something got caught in the machinery. Not wanting anyone to know (can you imagine filing the Worker's Compensation claim for this???), he glued (?) and bandaged himself together and did not seek medical attention until he was completely disabled by the infection.

I may have some of the details wrong, but that is the gist of the article. I would really like to to find the original (or, at least, the original Internet copy). Has anyone seen this?

I remember this being posted and I think that you have most of the details correct. The article probably would have been on the 'Castration in the Arts, News, and Websites' forum, but I have a feeling that it was a long time ago and may have been on the earlier version of Vbulletin so that it is no longer available.

Perhaps one of the other members remembers this and can give you more.

I can remember this happening quite a few years ago.It did not make the papers,but being in the Union I heard about it.

Another seldom heard story,that I am sure of back in the 1950,s a guy working in a prefab house factory somehow got the end of his penis pinched between a wall section and solid surface.He lost the head of his penis.
