I am working on my 4th Novel. It takes place in the distant future. One of the characters was a rapist, and the state performed a penectomy as punishment.

He was left with a pair of balls, this way he would be in constant sexual frustration.

Is this accurate? What would this be like?

Also, if the doctor performing the surgery goofed, and he got infected what could happen?

Educate me my castrated freinds. Just give me a few facts so my mind can do the rest. I'd hate to write a novel about something I don't know completely about, and look like a fool in the eyes of those that know.
