Anyway, to cut a long story short, he reckoned that if a man regularly heated his testicles for a few weeks, then the production of testosterone was impaired resulted in clear semen and in effect a temporary castration. It all sounds a bit unfeasible, but the guy had obviously spent a lot of time putting the website together. Has anyone else heard of this - does it work?

I'm not a doctor but I doubt it. You would probably only reduce the amount of but as far as I'm concerned, even men who are unable to reproduce (low sperm count or whatever) have normal testosterone levels.

Heat will have no effect on testosterone production. It will only decrease/eliminate the sperm production.

testicle heating should have no effect except to reduce sperm count. on the other hand, it would feel really nice on a cold winter evening.

I tried heating my testicles for periods of upwards of an hour with an infrared heat lamp, but the only effect noted was a change in the quality of the seminal fluid: it became less viscous and grey to colorless, suggesting a greatly reduced sperm content. In the novel "Salammbo" , by Alexandre Dumas (I think) a eunuch remarks tht he was made a eunuch by lowering his testicles into a krater of boiling water. So, perhaps heating is effective if extreme enough. I have also read elsewhere (I think it was in a book called "Religion in the Stone Age.") that priests of Cybele were sometimes castrated by immersing their testicles in a warm solution of hemlock until they felt bitterly cold. Hemlock is a neurotoxin, but I'm not sure what was happening in this case.
