How to apply to oneself an hormone injection?

Hi In a few days my depo-provera tryal will be started. I know how to apply an injection to others, but do it to myself is another issue. I have never applied and hormone kit injection So I have some questions

1.-Does I have eliminate the first liquid drop in the needle to avoid inject me some air?

2.- Could Depo-Provera being injected in another area aside from buttocks? could be apply in thighs, shoulders?

4.- Im heared that hormone injections are cause some pain and that it last some days is it true?

5.- Another recommendation for a successful shot?

I can only answer some of the questions from freddyde. I self inject Testosterone. The injections go into the large muscle of the thigh in the solid area below the bone and away from the hip joint, this may also be possible for depo-provera. Yes there is some pain at the site of the injection for a few days. --FLO--

Thanks for replies, I've just watched the video. It seems very easy. I hope I´m doing it right
