Dihydrotestosterone is the potent sex hormone and testosterone converts into dht. If blocked and lowered to low levels what effects can it have on a man?

I'm probably a bad specimen because T blockers also don't manage to do a good job blocking T, nevertheless, I'd say that as far as I remember the 5-alpha-reductase inhibitor Finasteride had zero effect on my health and wellbeing.

I took finasteride (probably the most common way of blocking DHT) for a little while before I was castrated. I didn't notice anything beyond delayed ejaculation, which is also all I seemed to get when taking SSRIs. I could still get hard easily and had plenty in the way of libido. I didn't notice anything unusual as far as depression goes. But I have heard some guys say that finasteride has had impacts on their libido and the like. Some people also say the same about SSRIs. I don't recall hearing anyone say that finasteride gave them depression, but I would imagine it is possible.

I have been taking dutasteride for 1 year and 2 months now. My penis is limp, libido is low and I have no sex drive at all. This was what I wanted and the outcome is what I actually desired. I am feeling quite depressed not sure if this related to the medication or hormones. I also spend time researching suicide methods and been worried because I do not want be this way. I have been to my doctor recently to tell him about my situation and that I am feeling depressed and have been thinking and researching suicide. I dislike my thought pattern because I do not want think this way.. is there something wrong with me for thinking this way.. My doctor was quite unhelpful he told me stop thinking about it and stop worrying about it and that I will be okay. He did not take me seriously also I asked if he will let me talk to someone like psychiatrist but he refused and told me to leave. I am alone with these thoughts and my mood not sure what to do and how to fix this. if anyone could give helpful advice I will be thankful.

Mate, if you are having suicidal thoughts and are googleing for suicide methods, you definitely DO need to have an appointment with a psychiatrist. I know this from my own experiences.

I suggest that you call a suicide help line, there must be some in London. They should be able to get assistance for you. --FLO--

That's probably what I call the ''welfare state bureacratism''. There's no referral needed for a psychiatrist in Estonia. Perhaps you can get an appointment with a private psychiatrist in the UK? Are there such people? Well, in Estonia you can get to all kinds of doctors without GP referral if you pay. Perhaps you can change your GP?

I will book another appointment with the doctor and speak with him. I can explain it again and hopefully I get help.

Definitely get yourself back to the doctors mate and tell them "I want a referal as soon as possible" Don't be fobbed off.
