The part about being mentally deranged could apply if you are considering Lake Michigan except possibly in July or August.
It could also apply to anybody who swims in Lake Michigan except in July or August.

Them thar video clips are not of any segment of the Wisconsin River that is found in the State of Wisconsin.
Yes, if one reads enough of the comments, there are two or more folks who posted comments about the video not being of any beach anywhere on the Wisconsin River.
Huge breakers rolling onto the banks of the Wisconsin River from miles away across said river?
I expect that River can vouchsafe that the Wisconsin River is not depicted in those video clips.
There is a very nice swimming beach in Whitefish Dunes State Park that tends to get crowded in the summer.
Swimming in Lake Michigan along the Wisconsin shoreline is very common.
