Speaking of non-typical slashers (sort of): Tucker and Dale Vs. Evil

Saw the thread below re. Cabin in the Woods and thought I'd mention this one.

I loved this movie. Pretty low-budget slasher-flick by all appearances, until things get rolling.

It turns the genre on its head. It has the group of college-kids going out to the woods and meeting up with hillbillies...

... but (and this isn't really giving anything away) the hillbillies are the innocent bystanders; the college kids' own paranoia and idiocy make them think Tucker and Dale, the "hillbillies", are violent rubes; the kids spend their time trying to avoid/attack them, while the whole time, the hillbillies can NOT understand why these damn crazy kids keep killing themselves all around them.

It's quite different and worth the watch, lots of blood but some serious giggles along for the ride.
