I saw this movie last night. It was the first Leonard DiCaprio movie i liked. If you don't like depressing films, this one is not for you.

Though this film gave me nightmares, I enjoyed it.

My response was similar. DiCaprio was excellent, as he's been in many movies now, but the film was nightmarish. What used to be called a bummer. I saw it only once because it was too upsetting. A director of Scorsese's gifts shouldn't be turned loose on the horror genre - he's too good at it.

I thought it was overrated and that it sucked.

I had it figured out 10 minutes into it. :(

Wow, figured it out in ten minutes? I did not figure it out untill the end of the movie, and I really did like the movie.

To me, it seemed very good acting by all, Max Von Sydow was the perfect "suspected escaped Nazi war criminal evil doctor" (the "evil doctor" role he was doing very well almost thirty years earlier in "Strange Brew" http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0086373/ ). I thought Matt (or is it Mark?) Ruffalo was an excellent supporting actor.

Seriously, I really liked the whole movie. It seemed a plausable plot, and of course the whole idea of an isolated island, either a beautiful protectect paradise or an exquisitely well designed prison under the rule of a sadistic mad man.... and then in the end, when the real story comes out... It all worked well for me, I watched the movie a couple of times and really liked it.

This is a very creepy movie with an amazing plot.

I haven't seen all of it so I don't want to say anything else.
