Too bad about the ScramJet failure due to an auxiliary system and not the primary science.

Moi, the ScramJet was not a failure, it was a great success.
BUT what does that have to do with this thread?

If you'd been part of what they did you'd want to celebrate too.
A great engineering accomplishment is just as satisfying to the participants
as any football game.
