Correct me if I'm wrong, please, but this is the story I've heard about the FPS Russia guy on YouTube; apparently, he's a Russian (well, obviously) who lives in the USA, and all the guns and weaponry he fires off is legal and buy-able in the USA with the right licences, etc. Is this true? And if it is.... holy shit!!!! Scary, man.

According to Wikipaedia he is actually an American from Georgia, who originally posted videos of himself playing video games before he graduated to real guns. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kyle_Myers

FPSRussia

FPSRussia is Myers' YouTube channel, where he portrays a Russian named Dmitri Potapoff. Each video on his channel generally has him explain a bit about the gun (or guns) he will use in that video, before he demonstrates their abilities on targets such as fruit or bottles of cola. The FPSRussia channel reached the 1 million subscriber mark in June 2011. As of May 2012 the FPSRussia YouTube channel has over 2.3 million subscribers and 413 million video views. Due to the success of FPSRussia, Myers opened up a second channel, MoreFPSRussia, which currently has over 273k subscribers and over 4.1 million video views, as of May 2012. Myers collaborated with EpicMealTime in July 2011. The collaboration has earned over 5.7 millon video views as of May 17, 2012. Myers has several different equipment and weapons that have been featured in his videos such as a golden AK-47, an armored troop carrier, and a quadrotor. In more recent videos both an M18 Hellcat and an M5 light tank have been featured.

Before Myers started FPSRussia, he ran a channel named "klm5986". Here he posted footage of himself playing first-person shooter video games, usually ones in the Call of Duty series under the name FPSKyle. At times his YouTube channel featured videos primarily from other YouTube personalities, namely xSocrates. He later wanted to show how guns worked in real life and to compare them to how they are portrayed in video games, movies and TV shows. He got the idea for a Russian accent while working at a car dealership. One of his co-workers was Russian and he took interest in impersonating it. He used the accent to create the character Dmitri and what followed was him filming himself shooting guns on his family farm in Georgia.

The beauty of all of this is he makes money from all these videos and most likely gets his guns and ammo free from the manufacture.

This is the kind of job everybody would like, Play and get paid for it.

If you posted a video on youtube offering footage of you "playing with your peashooter" while smiling seductively, I guarantee you'd make money :)

But isn't Georgia in Russia?

Isn't that why the U.S.S.R. is...

"Gone with the Wind"?
