My upcoming perineal urethostomy

I'm anticipating hearing from my urologist this coming week to schedule my surgery. She wanted me to get a psych evaluation, which I did and I was diagnosed to be sane, so hopefully I'll hear from her soon. In the meantime I've been researching the surgery and was surprised by how invasive it is, take a look:

It will be interesting to see what I'm offered. I want to ask for my remaining scrotum to be removed which she might do. Apparently this operation also requires what's termed "scrotal elevation" meaning if you have testicles the scrotum must be cut and sewn so it's held up higher. The scrotum cannot hang over the new orifice that's created.

Why not leave them fully dangling. Sure a little messy if one for gets to pull them forward upon urination.
Good luck to you and your adventure. Thanks for sharing.

moi,
Leave what dangling? I'm already castrated and only have about half of my original scrotum left, actually less than half.

Howzit, my friend. I see some exitement is laying ahead for you. Go for it and remove the whole scrotum. Everything will look better. Next the penis must go!

It's tempting, but first things first, one thing at a time. I haven't decided on when or how to remove my penis. I've always wanted to do it quick! But I'm not there yet.

Dr. called and said she received my psychological evaluation and that she would schedule my perineal urethostomy!:) Scheduler will call me tomorrow. The doctor did ask me if I was sure about this and if I wanted reconstruction rather than a perineal urethostomy. I said no! I should have said to her that there's no sense reconstructing something that I don't want and doesn't work, but I didn't. You've got to be careful with what you say to doctors.

Congratulations, Hash! You're wise to be careful what you say around doctors.
They'd be ready to say NO in a heartbeat if you said anything they didn't appreciate.

While many, and perhaps most, doctors would refuse to do what I find wisely done, I have been able to find one, whenever I found it sufficiently necessary, who would listen well enough to understand why doing what I wanted would be better than not doing it. Because there is such a massive amount of information necessary for doing medical doctoring well, what has allowed my concerns to prevail is my having, regarding the topic of my concern, one or two orders of magnitude more relevant detail firmly in mind; a doctor states a medical opinion, and I respond with a form of, "Yes..., and...," and either the doctor runs out of words (the usual result) and I find another doctor, or the doctor has enough practical ability to make useful sense of my expressed concern.
Because, contrary to some notions of autism and autistic people, I am very sensitive to the "feelings" of other people, I chose to get implants in the 1980s to replace my genetic testicles, doing so out of concern for the "castration anxiety" of men I might encounter while, for a hypothetical example, going swimming at a public pool where a nude shower in an open shower room was a requirement for swimming.
When, in April of this year, my body chose to establish an adversarial relationship with "Prosthetic Lefty," I set out to terminate that adversarial (foreign-body-reaction) relationship, only to run into the same sort of prejudice against eunuchs that I encountered in the 1980s. The new WPATH SoC were not yet available this past April through June.
To me, each and ever person is the ranking world expert on the life of each such person.
So, I agree with Caith721 about being careful what is said around doctors. Being careful is how I got my orchiectomy and its subsequent bilateral prosthectomy.
And, Hash, I truly hope that things go well for you. You surely are worth it.

You and I are in the same state with different objectives. I'm considering what to do about my penis and, which surgical procedure to have for the reroute. My urologists, with whom I've worked for over seven years, has suggest that at first, the penis be shortened and surgically attached to my perineum by stretching the sides of the penis. In this way, it would look more natural and I could use the bathroom more easily by just sitting. This is far less invasive and gives me the opportunity to discover how best to address the issue of my penis. I'm not yet sure that I want a total removal but some sort of solution needs to be found. I'm certainly not unhappy now but feel that the removal is the logical conclusion to this phase of my becoming a total eunuch, something I very much want.
