THE TOWN (movie with lots of Boston people)
On Cable tonight (HBO)
Ben Affleck's adaptation of another Boston story. Reallly grity, profane and hard time bank robber going good and others going to die. Its a rough, gritty, crime-is-ugly, ugly, really ugly... And a very exciting movie and an engrossing one in that we cheer for the bad buy (Affleck) to get away. His heart isn't in the whole rob, jail, murder, prison rape and death thing. It's well acted and the guy who plays opposite Affleck as his "brother" gangster is spectacular. The robbery sequences are good action and the final robbery is spectacular in its scope.
The romance part of it is nice too.
I give it two thumbs up and that's all the thumbs I have.
BTW - there's a scene where a guy gets his penis shot off.
