My research colleague, Richard Wassersug, is currently working on a chapter for a college textbook in human sexuality. In a section that I’ve just read, he notes that the odds of a male being castrated as treatment for prostate cancer are about the same as the odds of a male coming out as gay. About one man in 27 will be castrated for prostate cancer.

Gays are very much in the daily news. There’s no news about castration for prostate cancer….
